Biography
I've been playing bass now for about 5 years and playing classical
piano for a year and a half. I started getting interested in music about 8
years ago, when I started listening to rock/hard rock bands like Van Halen,
Deep Purple and Queen. I was intrigued with the sounds and grooves these
bands produced and started playing guitar and had a handful of lessons.
I quickly moved on to listening to more heavier and technical music
(Classical, Progressive, Metal, Funk). Listening to bands within this music
got me interested in bass players and bass playing. Thus making the
transistion from guitar to bass.
I was especially interested in bass players who could hold there own and
weren't the typical "run of the mill" bassists. For example; John Myung,
Michael LePond, Les Claypool, Victor Wooten and Billy Sheehan. These players
use a vast array of techniques and I was interested in the way they made
various different sounds on their bass.
I try to keep my playing as colourful and varied as I can, keeping the
grooves and riffs interesting and different.
